An energetic water buffalo, surrounded by a lively frieze of the twelve animals engaged in the Great Race, paces the 24K gilded central medallion of the 2021 edition wealth bowl.

Chinese geomancy, or feng shui, holds that to attract good fortune, the display of a generous open bowl, preferably with an element of gold, is prescribed. Our wealth bowl’s wide proportions and gilded rim satisfy these wealth-attracting requirements in elegant fashion.

Folk tales recount the oriental zodiac's origins with the story of the Great Race, called by the deity the Jade Emperor to assign each year in the 12-year cycle an animal in the order they reached him by crossing a river. First past the post was the Rat, then the Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Ram, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig.

Included is a H4cm x 6cm landscape format engraving plate for personalisation, as is a square display stand in crimson composite resin, incised with stylised waves, rocks and clouds.
