Royal Selangor inaugurates the oriental zodiac’s new 12-year cycle in 2020 with a collection unmistakeable in inspiration and undeniably contemporary in design. Symbolic themes, derived from the zodiac’s origin myth of the Great Race, resonate throughout. Distinctive motifs from the hem of imperial dragon robes, stylised waves, rocks and clouds allude to the Jade Emperor and the myth’s important river crossing, whilst circular and rectilinear forms reference the Chinese concept of heaven and earth.
