For a family comprising only 55 species, hornbills account for some of the largest birds alive, with bills of equally impressive proportions. They are also generally monogamous, a rarity in the animal kingdom.

In Malaysia, home to about 10 of the world’s species, including the rhinoceros hornbill which inspires our sculpture, it is culturally important, an omen of good fortune and a powerful symbol of strength, dignity and loyalty. In brilliant finish pewter, on a walnut-stained rubberwood base, this considered object makes for a handsome gift.

Included is a H2cm x 6.5cm engraving plate for personalisation.
