Telepuk Collector’s Set

The Telepuk Collector’s Set is a considered interpretation of six historic Telepuk woodblocks. The designs are drawn from a series of 77 woodblocks dating from 1920 to 1923, which were owned by His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor at the time and are now preserved in the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum. Each selected woodblock has been translated into a pewter plaque. The plaques represent six motifs: Bunga Melati (jasmine), Bunga Tanjung Pecah Lapan (eight-petal flower), Bunga Cengkih (clove), eight-petal flower nested in a ring, Awan Larat (trailing clouds) and Pucuk Rebung (bamboo shoot).

About the collection
The Telepuk Collector’s Set, in collaboration with the V&A Museum, reinterprets traditional Malay textile gilding into souvenirs for contemporary decor and living. Motifs gracing the collector’s gift box are inspired by the Selangorian woodblocks in the V&A archive, used to decorate the royal clothes.
