A form dating to the Ming dynasty (1368 – 1644), the tianqiuping is distinguished by a rounded bulbous body and a tall slender neck. Literally translated as ‘celestial globe vase’, its generous surface afforded a wealth of decorative opportunities, making it one of Chinese ceramics’ most enduring forms.
A glittering butterfly visits the enormous peony blooming on the front of Destiny’s tianqiuping, both symbolising good fortune, wealth and beauty, whilst a peony bud features on the its reverse.
A pewter plate for personalisation is supplied with this item, which can be affixed to the included stand.
