The term Batik is derived from the Malay word Tik, meaning "to dot," highlighting its significance as an emblem of Southeast Asian craftsmanship. Our collection showcases handcrafted motifs like ceplok and parang, skillfully crafted by artisans and featured on tumblers, frames, and coasters.

Our Gembira collection is named after the Malay word, which means ‘happy’, emphasising our collection's focus on nostalgic and classic designs, culminating with practicality and signature Malaysian pewter. Our products accentuate Malaysian pride, and are infused with traditional patterns such as Pucuk Rebung and Pohon Bunga.

Heritage

The Heritage collection comprises six coaster designs, each drawing inspiration from the traditional arts and crafts of Malaysia, including those of the indigenous tribes from East Malaysia.

Each coaster showcases a distinct heritage print, crisply stamped on a bright pewter disc, set on a black, food-safe eco-composite base. Reflecting Royal Selangor’s commitment to sustainability, this eco-composite material is crafted from sawdust, a byproduct of their woodworking facility, combined with resin.

The collection’s coasters each tell a story, connecting us to the history, traditions, and unique identities of the various communities that make up the nation, preserving the rich cultural heritage of Malaysia. Available individually or as a set of six, these coasters are timeless gifts, perfect for personal and professional settings.
