Royal Selangor launches Tariq, a refined homeware and lifestyle collection celebrating the spirit of exploration.
Named after the Arabic word for pathfinder or morning star, Tariq is inspired by the intricate design motifs of antique astrolabes from the Abbasid Caliphate - emblems of Islamic science and navigation that once guided scholars, travellers, and astronomers across the world and sky.
Astrolabes once served multiple purposes, from telling time and locating celestial bodies to measuring altitudes and aiding navigation. Essential for travellers and astronomers, they helped determine positions using the stars.
Blending elegance with function, the Tariq collection pays tribute to this ingenuity, bringing timeless innovation to the modern home. Crafted from pewter, wood, frosted glass, and gilded detailing, each piece reflects celestial beauty and precision craftsmanship.

Tariq Plaque
A sculptural all-pewter plaque, featuring 24K gilded motifs reminiscent of astrolabe markings. The Arabic poem in the centre translates to ‘The greatest victory is over yourself’ by poet, Al-Ghazali. Space is available for personalisation.
