Mavis Michele Meta
Senior Retail Area Manager
It's a Small World
2020 marks Mavis’ 7th year with the company. With many years of experience in luxury retail prior to joining the brand, she ensures anyone who walks into the store enjoys the very best Royal Selangor has to offer. Her passion for luxury drives her constant search for new ways to enhance customer experience and engagement, and was part of the team that created Royal Selangor's new retail concept at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.
“What drew me to Royal Selangor is that I am working with a Malaysian brand that embraces diversity and inclusivity in everything it does. Our headquarters and stores are a melting pot of people from all over the world! I particularly enjoy when our colleagues from our international offices come to visit. It’s amazing how our conversations can yield useful nuggets of information that help serve our equally diverse customers.” Mavis says enthusiastically.
She further adds, “regardless of our backgrounds, Royal Selangor is a tight-knit community. I can’t count the number of times when my lunch mates have supported me in times of stress and help me grow as a person. And, we look forward to lunch time! That’s when we set work aside and connect as friends.”
“I’m also proud to work in one of the most gender-diverse places around. There’re many women in decision-making positions here. If I had to describe Royal Selangor in three words, it would be: authentic, multicultural and challenging (one that pushes boundaries and elevates),” she adds.
Royal Selangor salutes our cross-cultural teams on this World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development. Thank you for contributing your diverse talents and perspectives towards building a strong legacy of design and craftsmanship that has lasted for 135 years.
