Four cartouches display fish swimming amongst fallen flowers and water plants, as seen through openings in an ingenious 18th century double-layered composite vase. Replicating the original artefact, each pewter cartouche’s gilded border composes scenes of rich sculpting, presented in an elegant vertical arrangement.
