Ganesha ranks as one of the most worshipped deities in the Hindu pantheon. Easily identified by his elephant’s head, he is the patron of the arts and sciences, letters and learning, and as the god of beginnings, is honoured at the start of rites and ceremonies. Importantly, prayers offered to Ganesh often invoke his role as remover of obstacles.
