Designated Go 剛, which denotes virtue, equity and steadfastness, the deep subdued lacquer portrays the bronze koi. Considered the epitome of strength and perseverance, and referred to as Kumonryu or Dragon of Transformation, it is attributed with the ability to bring positive change to everything it touches.

A presentation case of century-old naturally fallen raintree timber displays the sculpture against a mesmerising blue black backdrop lacquered in the mine kumo nuri technique, a Zohiko innovation.

About the collection
Zohiko has been celebrated for their beautiful lacquerware since 1661. In a collaboration with Royal Selangor, the Japanese brand applies their time-honoured craft to this classic of East Asian mythology.
