Rendered almost flying at full pelt, the jockey out of the saddle and gunning for the finish, this magnificent sculpture, in pewter with gold-tinted detailing, captures the exhilaration of the horse race. Base in nyatoh, in duo-tone black and rosewood stain.
A Londoner of Scots extraction, Ronald Cameron (1930 - 2013) established an international reputation for his sculptural portrayals of the confidence and dynamism of women in a modern manner. His works have been shown in the company of other greats in British sculpture; Henry Moore, Elizabeth Frink, Lynn Chadwick and Barbara Hepworth amongst others.
Included is a H2cm x 14cm trapezoidal engraving plate for personalisation.
